Carol Pelphrey's Life Changed in 2002
In June 2002, Carol Pelphrey's life changed forever when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Being a registered nurse for 27 years, Carol thought she was prepared for the journey she was about to take, but like so many women in her situation, Carol quickly found that she was greatly mistaken ... nothing could have truly prepared her for cancer's attack on her body, mind, and spirit.
Complete Support for Cancer Women
Carol found that there were many different types of products that she needed during her recovery, but very few providers specialized in cancer care or offered a large selection of options. Additionally, while her physicians were happy to answer her questions, they didn't have hours to sit down and talk with her.
In response to this great need and a passion for helping women in similar circumstances, Carol opened Essentials For The Special Woman in 2004. The goal was to provide all the educational and supply needs that a woman with cancer would want to have in one beautiful location.
She successfully molded and shaped this company into one that would be a "safe haven" for ladies who have cancer, a place for them to become whole again - mind, body, and spirit - and a place for them to find peace, comfort, and support.
A Celebration of Life
Unfortunately, Carol's battle with cancer was not yet over. In 2008, she was re-diagnosed with metastatic disease. She fought valiantly for the next 4 years, but was unable to beat the disease; and on May 6, 2012, lost her battle with breast cancer. Now, her daughter, Jacqueline, and the staff of Essentials For The Special Woman are blessed to be able to carry on Carol's legacy. Call us today to find out about how we can help you!
